Pros: Excellent color screen..Great Software right out of the box..Windows Interface..Well built unit
Cons: OS Not as effecient as Palm..
The Bottom Line: I must say for the 400.00 I spent (350.00 for the IPAQ and 50.00 for the SD card), I love my new IPAQ. Lookout Palm here comes IPAQ!
Review: Before I begin talking about why I like my new IPAQ 3835, let me start off by saying I have been an avid Palm user for the past four years and switching to a Pocket PC was no easy task (no pun intended). A few weeks ago my Palm Vx gave out. During the...

Pros: Durability, looks, battery life, available software, memory capacity, beautiful display.
Cons: Synchronizing with desktop machines can be hit and miss. Cheesy protective cover.
The Bottom Line: I love my IPAQ. If your needs are similar to mine, you will, too. It is undoubtedly my most useful and satisfying purchase since I got my Swiss Army knife.
Review: I won't regurgitate the other fine information I've seen in my peer reviewers' notes, because for the most part I would agree with what they've observed; except for some obviously subjective issues such as battery life (depends on your intended use - I...

Pros: Bright Screen, clear protective case, Fast processor, great software bundle, plenty of storage, fast sync
Cons: a little bigger than some, other than that none
The Bottom Line: Upgrading, entering the field or in need of a useful communication, organization and productivity tool -- the 3835 offers a perfect opportunity to all!
Review: Compaq proves that they learn from experience. The 3800 series really exhibits a refinement and improvement on former models. Having upgraded from the 3765 the immediate improvements are obvious.
The first is a round stylus. Formerly you... |

Pros: Easy to read, even outside. Fast and multi tasking, windows media player. Cheap.
Cons: Won't turn off when it's on the cradle. Could have a compact flash slot.
The Bottom Line: Not top of the line, but it gets the job done quite nicely.
Review: Going in to college I needed something that could help schedule and manage my life. Simply having pocket Word and Excel has made things so much easier. I added a 128 meg Secure Digital card and filled it up with mp3's. This thing makes an excellent mp3...

Pros: Fantastic screen! Great battery life.
Cons: Battery is not user replaceable
The Bottom Line: Compaq has brought a fantastic handheld to market with the 3800 series. Brilliant color with a built-in SD slot and Pocket Windows 2002 make this a great buy!
Review: Compaq's new 3835 series iPAQ handhelds bring new meaning to color in handhelds. They boast a 16-bit (65k color) Color Reflective TFT display and is bright enough to see clearly outside on a sunny day. Compaq has also improved the battery life by about...

Pros: Almost full compatible to PC. Plenty memory capacity. Beautiful Screen.
Cons: Incompatible to Palm. Less freewares than Palm. No Zagat. Not free Vindigo.
The Bottom Line: Definitely buy it, if you have difficulty with pushing software into tiny memory in your Palm.
Review: I used to use Palm III, Visor Edge and Sony Clie N760C. Every time, the more I was getting used to each of them, the more I was struggled with limited capacity. Since I'm an international student, I definitely needed dictionary software, one of the bulky...

Pros: Great screen. Extremely well designed interface. Easy to integrate with desktop PC.
Cons: A little thicker than the thinest handhelds.
The Bottom Line: At nearly half what I paid for mine, the 3835 or current equivalent is a great deal. I strongly recommend it.
Review: Having owned the Compaq 3835 for the past six months I can't imagine living without it.
From the Sharp Wizard to the first Palm OS PDA's to the HP Jornada, I've owned a myriad of handheld products designed to organize my life. Some I used... |

Review: If you're reading this review, you're probably considering purchasing a new PDA, so I'll focus on the strengths and weaknesses of this unit, as I see them after using the unit heavily for the past 5-months.

Pros: Bright Screen (no dust!), Software Bundle, SD Slot, Comes with cover, great text recognition
Cons: various "annoyances", can shut off at random, charges at random!, no power input (requires adapter)
The Bottom Line: I absolutely love this unit and recommend it. Just Remember, Check the headphone jack at full volume as soon as it's charged, Update the firmware!
Review: iPAQ's are coming along, but still have some glitches to remove. After having a 3600 series which ALWAYS had dust behind the screen, and had a scratch preventing proper text recognition, I welcomed the opportunity to upgrade to the 3835. Out of the box...

Pros: Ease of setup-Bundled software-Sync is easy-SD memory slot-Better battery-Great extras to buy for it.
Cons: Need to reset it a lot!-Battery life can differ GREATLY-Price!
The Bottom Line: Buy it and leave your laptop in the trunk, this thing has it all or you can load what is missing.
Review: Let me start by saying I thought palm WAS the PDA market! Then came the iPaq 3835, the first time I picked it up I fell in love.
The color screen was great, the software that came preloaded was perfect for my needs. Then I noticed the... |
